Alchemist vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Farming up a massive net worth lead is Alchemist's entire plan, but Spectre’s global presence directly interferes with it. While Alchemist is trying to safely farm stacks with Acid Spray, Spectre can use Haunt to turn a small skirmish on the other side of the map into a kill on one of his teammates. This constantly shrinks the map and makes it unsafe for Alchemist to split off and accelerate. Even in a direct fight, Dispersion punishes the rapid attacks from Chemical Rage, reflecting damage back onto Alchemist and anyone near him. He wants to hit a single target quickly, and Spectre’s kit makes that painful.

The game becomes a race against time. Alchemist needs to hit his item timings and force objectives with his team before Spectre comes online. He wants to be taking Roshan and pushing high ground while Spectre is still farming her first major items. Spectre’s team plays to delay and survive this mid-game power spike. As the game drags on, Alchemist’s gold lead becomes less significant, while Spectre’s strength as a hard carry grows. If Alchemist fails to close out the game during his peak, Spectre’s late-game inevitability gives her the advantage.
