Spectre (Mercurial) in Dota 2 7.41: win rate, pick rate, the heroes Spectre counters and struggles against, and its best teammates — from recent ranked matches by Batru's AI win-prediction pipeline.
Spectre is the premier late-game carry: Dispersion reflects damage, Spectral Dagger chases, and Haunt lets her teleport to every enemy at once for a global pickoff. She out-scales nearly the entire hero pool — her best matchups are absurd: Nature's Prophet (64.0%), Templar Assassin (62.7%), Mars (62.5%) and Timbersaw (61.9%) simply lose the long game. Spectre is countered by the rare heroes who beat her scaling: Meepo (46.9%) ends the game before she comes online, while Undying (48.4%) and Necrophos (49.7%) out-sustain her. Draft tip: Spectre is a top-tier hard-carry into almost any greedy or immobile draft; her only real counters are fast-snowball (Meepo) and break/anti-heal line-ups.

Spectre wins by reaching the late game and turning every enemy pickoff into a 5-man Haunt — she wants front line, forced fights, and lockdown. She pairs best with AoE-engage and durable setup: Phoenix (59.1%) forces the fights her Haunt cashes in, while Wraith King (58.8%) and Axe (58.7%) provide the tanky lockdown to Haunt onto. Give Spectre a fight-forcing front line and her late-game Haunt erases teams from across the map.
