Alchemist vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to punish a greedy Alchemist pick with Void Spirit is a calculated risk. On paper, Void Spirit has the tools for the job: high mobility to get on top of Alchemist and Dissimilate to dodge the Unstable Concoction. This lets him threaten Alchemist's farming patterns early on. However, this window of opportunity is narrow. Once Alchemist gets a few levels in Chemical Rage, his regeneration can be too much for Void Spirit's solo burst damage to overcome. A failed gank can mean Alchemist gets a kill and a huge gold swing, completely negating the pressure.

The matchup's outcome often hinges on the game's first phase. A successful Void Spirit will coordinate with his supports to invade the jungle and repeatedly pressure Alchemist, delaying his core item timings. If this pressure works, the game can snowball. But if Alchemist's team provides adequate vision and protection, he can safely accelerate his farm. A farmed Alchemist with an early defensive item can simply shrug off Void Spirit's harassment and start taking over the map, leaving Void to find other targets he can actually kill. This makes the game a true race against time.
