How this matchup plays

Dealing with Arc Warden often means finding a hero who can handle both the main hero and his Tempest Double at once. Earthshaker has the perfect tool for this in Echo Slam, which gains significant power when it hits multiple targets, especially hero-like ones. Arc Warden essentially provides a free, bonus target that amplifies Earthshaker's ultimate damage. On the other hand, Arc Warden's long range and defensive tools like Magnetic Field can make it very difficult for Earthshaker to find a clean initiation. Spark Wraiths can also scout out potential blink locations, making a surprise jump much harder to pull off.

The game becomes a tense battle of positioning. Arc Warden's goal is to keep himself and his clone far enough apart that they can't both be caught by Fissure or a big ultimate. He wants to slowly siege and control fights from a safe distance. Earthshaker plays a patient game, waiting for the one mistake or the perfect wrap-around to catch both Arc Warden copies together. A successful Blink Dagger initiation can turn the fight instantly, but a disciplined Arc Warden can often play around that threat, making the outcome of any engagement uncertain.
