Arc Warden vs Shadow Fiend

How this matchup plays

Trying to land Shadowrazes in lane becomes a real headache against a good Arc Warden. Standing still to aim is an invitation for a Spark Wraith, forcing a trade that Shadow Fiend often doesn't want to take. Later on, Magnetic Field creates a zone where SF's right-clicks are mostly useless. This forces him to either reposition constantly during fights, losing precious seconds of attack time, or switch focus entirely. While Shadow Fiend can still use his magical burst, his main source of sustained damage gets heavily discouraged.

The matchup often comes down to which hero hits their timings first. Shadow Fiend can have a strong early lane, using his razes to secure a farm and soul advantage before Arc Warden has many levels. If he can snowball that lead into an early BKB and start taking objectives, he can end the game before Arc becomes a problem. However, if the game goes longer, the Tempest Double starts to take over. Arc Warden can safely push out lanes and farm with his clone, while the real hero stays safe, making it difficult for Shadow Fiend to find the pickoffs he needs to stay ahead.
