Arc Warden vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down a target with a full Tempest Double combo feels great, until that target is Wraith King. Arc Warden invests all his cooldowns and a significant portion of his clone's duration to secure one kill, but Reincarnation completely negates that effort. Wraith King stands right back up, often with his team ready to collapse on the now-vulnerable Arc. Beyond that, Wraith King's constant skeleton swarm pushes lanes and farms the map, forcing Arc Warden to react and show his position, which is often exactly what the enemy team is waiting for.

This dynamic gets worse for Arc Warden as the game goes on. A Wraith King with a Blink Dagger can ignore the Tempest Double entirely and jump the real hero. Arc's Magnetic Field provides some protection, but it won't stop Wraithfire Blast or save him from being killed twice over. Arc Warden is forced into a reactive game of split-pushing and trying to avoid the fight, but Wraith King's ability to show up with his team and end the game is much more direct. Arc has to hope his team can create enough space for him to get impossibly far ahead.
