Arc Warden vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target from a safe distance with Tempest Double often goes wrong against Vengeful Spirit. Her Nether Swap is the main problem, as it can either save the target or, more dangerously, pull the real Arc Warden out of position and into the middle of the fight. This completely undermines Arc Warden’s core strategy of dealing damage from safety. Adding a reliable stun from Magic Missile to lock down the real hero and armor reduction from Wave of Terror means Vengeful Spirit has several tools to create kill opportunities on a hero who relies on staying hidden.

The game becomes a tense hunt for the real Arc Warden. While he tries to split-push and farm with his clone, Vengeful Spirit enables her team to close the distance and find him. A successful Swap on the real hero is often a death sentence, forcing Arc Warden to play cautiously and use his clone to scout and bait cooldowns. Even if Vengeful Spirit is traded in a fight, her death illusion can persist, providing vision and making it difficult for Arc Warden to reposition safely. This constant threat of being exposed is what gives her a small advantage.
