Axe vs Death Prophet

How this matchup plays

Trying to run at a team with Exorcism active is a death sentence against an Axe. His entire kit is designed to punish heroes who want to stand their ground or can't get away instantly. Berserker's Call forces Death Prophet to stop dead in her tracks, preventing her from kiting or repositioning while her ghosts do damage. While she's taunted, her naturally low armor makes her melt to Axe's Counter Helix spins and follow-up from his team. If she somehow survives the initial burst, Culling Blade finishes her off before Spirit Siphon can bring her health back.

This matchup gets progressively worse for Death Prophet as the game goes on. Her laning phase might be fine, but once Axe gets a Blink Dagger, she can't safely push waves or position aggressively in fights. Her ultimate becomes a huge liability; the moment she uses Exorcism and steps forward is the exact moment Axe is looking for to jump in and lock her down. Death Prophet can try to build a Force Staff or Glimmer Cape for protection, but Axe’s plan is simple and reliable: find her, call her, and end the fight before it begins.
