How this matchup plays

Trying to find a good duel as Kez feels impossible when Axe is on the other team. The core of Kez's design is his ability to outplay opponents with stance-swapping and parries, but Axe’s Berserker’s Call forces him to mindlessly attack. This feeds Axe a stream of Counter Helix spins, which deal pure damage that ignores the high armor Kez gets from his agility. Instead of a skillful duel, the fight becomes a blender that Kez is locked into. Axe’s kit effectively turns Kez’s greatest strengths against him, nullifying the tools he relies on to survive and deal damage in a one-on-one scenario.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. From the laning stage onward, Kez is under constant threat. He can’t farm aggressively or split-push safely once Axe has a Blink Dagger. Any teamfight can start with Axe jumping in and using Call to eliminate Kez before he can react or swap to the correct stance. To survive, Kez is often forced into buying defensive items earlier than he’d like, slowing down his progression as a carry. Axe, meanwhile, can simply play his normal game, knowing his primary target has few good answers to his initiation.
