Axe vs Largo

How this matchup plays

Seeing an Axe on the other team makes picking Largo a real risk. Axe is built to force engagements on his own terms, controlling enemies and preventing them from reacting. If Largo is the hero Axe decides to jump on, he often gets completely shut down before he can have any impact. The very reason they work well on the same team is why this matchup is so one-sided: Axe excels at creating a lockdown situation for an ally to capitalize on. When he’s against Largo, he simply creates that same situation for his own team to exploit.

This dynamic forces Largo to play from behind all game. The Axe player will be looking for any opportunity to catch Largo out of position, forcing him to farm in safer, less efficient areas. Largo's team has to dedicate vision and support just to keep him alive, which slows down their overall map pressure and timing. For Largo to have a chance, his team needs to be ready with saves and counter-initiation, but it's a difficult plan to execute when Axe can dictate the start of every fight.
