Axe vs Leshrac

How this matchup plays

Controlling Leshrac's map movement often comes down to Axe's initiation tools. Once Axe has a Blink Dagger, he can threaten to use Berserker's Call at any time. A caught Leshrac is forced to attack, triggering Counter Helix spins for a good amount of physical damage. If Leshrac also has Pulse Nova active during the taunt, a Blade Mail on Axe will reflect that constant magic damage right back. This combination of return damage and forced attacks can punish Leshrac heavily for being out of position, forcing him to play more cautiously.

The game becomes a contest of positioning and reaction. Axe is always looking for that jump to lock down Leshrac, preventing him from outputting his sustained area damage in a teamfight. In response, a good Leshrac player has to invest in vision and defensive items like Ghost Scepter or Force Staff to survive the initial lockdown. Even if Axe lands a good Call, Leshrac can survive with quick reactions and team support, but the threat alone is often enough to disrupt Leshrac's game plan and give Axe's team an opening.
