Axe vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Getting blinked on by an Axe is often the end for Lina. His Berserker's Call locks her in place long enough for his team to follow up, and she's too fragile to survive that kind of focus. Her own stun, Light Strike Array, has a cast delay that makes it very unreliable for stopping an instant initiation. Worse, Axe's core build includes Blade Mail, which directly punishes Lina's high burst damage. If she unloads her spells on him while it's active, she risks killing herself with the reflected damage from her own Laguna Blade.

This defines the mid-game. Once Axe gets his Blink Dagger, Lina can't safely push out lanes or position aggressively in teamfights. She's forced to buy defensive items like a Linken's Sphere or Eul's Scepter, which slows down her damage progression and still might not save her from a well-coordinated gank. To have a chance, Lina’s team needs to provide excellent vision and be ready with saves the moment Axe jumps. It forces her to play reactively for most of the game.
