Axe vs Omniknight

How this matchup plays

Trying to save a core with Guardian Angel often does nothing against a farmed Axe. His ultimate, Culling Blade, is the main reason for this, as it delivers a pure damage kill that completely ignores the physical immunity from Omniknight’s spell. It guarantees a kill on a low-health target, rendering Omniknight’s biggest teamfight contribution useless against the primary threat. Axe can also simply use Berserker’s Call to taunt Omniknight himself, stopping him from casting any saves at all during the crucial moment of initiation.

As the game progresses, this dynamic puts the Omniknight player on the back foot. He’s forced to position extremely cautiously, hoping to cast his spells before Axe can jump on a key target. The Axe player, however, has a much simpler game plan. They can wait for the fight to develop, identify a target weakened by the initial chaos, and then execute them with Culling Blade regardless of Omniknight's protective spells. It creates a situation where Omni's best defensive tools have a massive, obvious counter.
