Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Axe wins the Axe vs Primal Beast matchup: Axe beats Primal Beast in 51.10% of 22,024 ranked matches.
Catching a charging Primal Beast with Berserker's Call feels like the perfect answer, but it rarely leads to a simple kill. Primal Beast is naturally so durable, especially with Uproar stacks, that he can often live through the duration of the taunt. Once free, he can immediately turn with his own spells. Axe gets a huge number of Counter Helix spins from the exchange, but it’s a brawl that both heroes are well-equipped to handle. Neither can reliably burst the other down before they get a chance to fight back, turning their direct encounters into messy slugfests where the outcome is uncertain.
The matchup becomes a duel between two powerful initiators. It's all about which hero gets the jump and on what terms. If Axe finds Primal Beast with a good Blink-Call, his team has a clean window to attack. If Primal Beast lands a good Onslaught into Pulverize on a key target, he can disable them through Blade Mail or BKB for his team to follow up. The game often hinges on which team better enables their initiator with vision and follow-up, making fights feel like a coin toss depending on who makes the first, best move.
