How this matchup plays

Trying to land a big Berserker's Call on Warlock's team is a high-stakes gamble. Warlock can often drop Chaotic Offering right on top of Axe, stunning him and turning the initiation around completely. Fatal Bonds also complicates things. If Axe successfully calls several bonded targets, the shared damage from Counter Helix spins can quickly add up on his own allies if they are also linked, making the fight chaotic for both sides. The same abilities that work so well together become each other's direct counters when they are on opposing teams.

The outcome of a fight often boils down to positioning and reaction time. If Axe can find and eliminate Warlock before Chaotic Offering is cast, his team can usually clean up the rest. But a well-positioned Warlock can punish an initiation on his cores by dropping his Golem and using Upheaval to control Axe's team. Even if Axe jumps Warlock directly, a quick ultimate cast before dying can still swing the engagement, meaning the fight is rarely straightforward for either hero.
