How this matchup plays

Facing a Beastmaster lane often means dealing with constant pressure from his summons. Centaur Warrunner is equipped to handle this type of aggression. His Retaliate passive automatically damages Beastmaster's Boar with every attack it makes, which can wear it down and make it costly for Beastmaster to trade hits effectively. Centaur’s high health pool lets him absorb harassment from Wild Axes, and a single cast of Double Edge is often enough to secure the last hit on a weakened Boar, denying Beastmaster control of the lane. This consistent answer to the summons is a core reason Centaur tends to have an easier time.

As the game progresses, Beastmaster’s plan revolves around using Primal Roar to initiate and taking objectives with his army. Centaur’s Stampede is a natural counter to this, providing his entire team with a quick escape from a Roar setup or a way to turn and collapse on Beastmaster himself. The edge remains slight because a good Beastmaster can still find pickoffs on other targets or create pressure across the map. However, Centaur Warrunner consistently has the right tools to disrupt Beastmaster’s preferred timings and fight plans from the lane onwards.
