Beastmaster vs Dragon Knight

How this matchup plays

Trying to overwhelm Dragon Knight with summons is often a mistake. His Dragon Breath can clear out Beastmaster's whole zoo in a single cast, which undermines a lot of the early pressure. Dragon Knight is also naturally tanky, so the physical damage from the boar and Beastmaster himself doesn't stick very well. This lets him survive the lane phase more comfortably than many other heroes and secure his own farm. The core of Beastmaster’s laning plan is simply less effective here, giving Dragon Knight a small but consistent opening to get ahead.

As the game goes on, this dynamic holds. Beastmaster's Primal Roar is great for isolating a hero, but Dragon Knight is a tough target to burst down, especially once he has Dragon Form. He can often survive the initiation, turn, and start pushing back with his team. This forces the Beastmaster player to choose between using their ultimate on a less durable hero or risking it on a target that might not die. Dragon Knight’s job is to absorb that pressure and make space, which he does quite well in this matchup.
