Beastmaster vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Trying to run down Hoodwink with a boar and other summons often gives her the advantage. Her Acorn Shot gets more value when it can bounce between Beastmaster and his units, spreading damage and a slow across the whole group. Scurry also makes her exceptionally difficult to pin down near treelines, allowing her to easily kite the melee summons or reset after being spotted by a hawk. She can use the zoo against itself, turning Beastmaster's primary strength into a liability during skirmishes where she can control the spacing.

This leaves Beastmaster in a tough spot. He wants to group up and pressure objectives, but Hoodwink excels at safely stalling pushes from the woods. With a well-aimed Sharpshooter, she can clear the wave he needs for a tower push or pick off a support playing behind him. The matchup isn't one-sided, however. Hoodwink is fragile, and if Beastmaster can ever close the gap and land a Primal Roar, she is almost certainly dead. The game becomes about his initiation versus her positioning, and she usually has more tools to control that fight.
