Beastmaster vs Mirana

How this matchup plays

Drafting Beastmaster into a likely Mirana is a calculated risk. His entire ganking pattern of slowing with the Boar and closing the gap is nullified by Leap, which she can use to escape the slow and dodge Wild Axes. Mirana doesn't have to worry about being run down. Furthermore, Beastmaster wants to use his Hawk to control vision and play solo on the map, but Moonlight Shadow allows Mirana's team to completely bypass that vision and hunt him down. She fundamentally threatens his ability to create pressure and farm safely, turning his own aggression against him.

Throughout the game, Beastmaster is trying to force objectives, but Mirana is one of the best heroes at disrupting a siege. A single Sacred Arrow from the fog can stop a push and get a kill, forcing his whole team back. While Beastmaster relies on Primal Roar to get a key pick-off, Mirana can often turn the fight right after by leaping on a backline support. He has to play reactively and grouped up, which goes against his strengths. Mirana forces Beastmaster to play her game of chaotic pick-offs, a game he is not well-equipped to win.
