Beastmaster vs Nyx Assassin

How this matchup plays

Trying to pressure an opponent with a Boar or Hawk feels awful when any tick of damage can get turned into a stun on your team. Beastmaster relies on these summons to apply pressure and control space, but Spiked Carapace makes them a liability. Even after a successful Primal Roar, the follow-up damage from Beastmaster himself can be completely reflected. Nyx Assassin also makes it a priority to drain Beastmaster's limited mana pool with Mana Burn, leaving him unable to cast his ultimate or re-summon his army.

This dynamic leaves Beastmaster in a bind all game. His plan to control the map and set up pickoffs is constantly under threat from a lurking Nyx. Instead of dictating the pace, he's often forced onto the defensive, playing around the threat of Vendetta ganks while he tries to farm or push. In teamfights, he can’t confidently initiate with his roar because a well-timed Carapace can turn his own setup into a disaster for his team, completely stalling the follow-up.
