Beastmaster vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Controlling the lane against Beastmaster often comes down to dealing with his summons. Ogre Magi’s high starting armor and regeneration let him absorb the physical damage from the Boar without much trouble. His Ignite can then slow down the summons, making them easy to kite and kill from a distance, while Fireblast helps secure the last hits on them. This denies Beastmaster the early pressure he needs to dominate his lane and get a good start. Ogre is simply a durable body who is difficult to harass out of the lane, which directly interferes with Beastmaster's game plan of chipping away at a hero with his pets.

This early disruption can slow down Beastmaster’s whole tempo. He wants to get his core items and start pushing towers or taking Roshan, but the laning phase against an Ogre Magi can set him behind schedule. Later in the game, a Bloodlusted core on Ogre's team can tear through Beastmaster and his summons very quickly. While Primal Roar is still a powerful ganking tool that Ogre has no direct answer for, the persistent lane pressure from Ogre is often enough to create a small opening for his team to exploit. Beastmaster has to work harder to find his timings.
