Beastmaster vs Phoenix

How this matchup plays

Trying to pressure towers with your zoo feels awful against Phoenix. The core problem is Fire Spirits, which can hit Beastmaster and all of his summons at once, crippling their attack speed. This neuters his army's damage, making it impossible to threaten heroes or objectives effectively. When Supernova comes out, the slow-attacking summons can't land enough hits to destroy the egg. Phoenix can also easily escape a Primal Roar gank with Icarus Dive or melt a high-health Beastmaster from afar using Sun Ray, making one-on-one interactions difficult.

Throughout the game, this dynamic stops Beastmaster from playing his style. He can’t effectively push or apply map pressure when Phoenix is alive. In teamfights, a good Supernova creates a dilemma: focusing the egg is often futile due to the attack speed slow, but ignoring it means a guaranteed team-wide stun. Beastmaster’s best bet is to find a pickoff on Phoenix before a fight begins, but Phoenix’s mobility makes that a tall order. The matchup is one-sided because Phoenix’s kit systematically dismantles Beastmaster's entire strategy.
