Beastmaster vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Trying to take objectives against Pudge can be a problem for Beastmaster. His army of boars and hawks is normally great for blocking skillshots, and they do a decent job of getting in the way of Meat Hook. The issue arises if Pudge manages to hook Beastmaster himself. Dismember provides a long, BKB-piercing lockdown that is usually enough for his team to burst Beastmaster down before he can even use Primal Roar. Pudge also tends to get very tanky from Flesh Heap stacks, making it difficult for Beastmaster's physical damage summons to wear him down over the course of a fight.

The matchup often becomes a game of vision and initiation. Beastmaster uses his Hawk to scout for Pudge, trying to avoid ambushes and safely coordinate his team's push. Pudge, in turn, looks for any small positioning mistake to capitalize on. While Primal Roar is a fantastic tool to stun Pudge and interrupt Dismember, it’s often not enough on its own. The fight tilts in Pudge's favor because his team can usually kill a Dismembered Beastmaster, while a Roared Pudge has a better chance of surviving the follow-up due to his large health pool.
