Beastmaster vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trying to start a fight with Primal Roar on Wraith King is usually a mistake. Beastmaster’s whole mid-game plan revolves around using that long stun to get a pick-off and create a numbers advantage, but Reincarnation completely nullifies this. Wraith King dies, a massive slow goes off, and then he stands back up fully ready to fight. The long cooldown on Roar is effectively wasted. Beastmaster’s boars and other summons also struggle to make a dent in a hero who is naturally durable and has built-in lifesteal.

This dynamic forces the Beastmaster into a difficult decision. He either has to use his ultimate on a less important support, which is a much weaker play, or hope his team can somehow kill Wraith King twice through Reincarnation. This gives Wraith King a ton of breathing room to farm and scale. He can use his own skeletons to counter-push lanes and pressure towers, directly undermining the map control Beastmaster tries to build. In teamfights, Beastmaster ends up feeling like he has one less ability against their most important core.
