Beastmaster vs Techies

How this matchup plays

Picking Beastmaster into a game where Techies is available is a huge risk. So much of Beastmaster’s early power comes from his Boar, but it will consistently run ahead of him and die to Proximity Mines. This not only neutralizes all of Beastmaster's lane pressure but also feeds a steady stream of gold to Techies. Beyond that, Stasis Traps will root any of his summons that trigger them, making them easy targets and halting any coordinated push or gank attempt before it can even start.

This dynamic forces Beastmaster to play a completely different game. He wants to control the map and push towers, but doing so becomes a slow, expensive process of de-mining every step of the way. Using Primal Roar to start a favorable fight is also difficult. Techies can pre-mine common fight locations, making any follow-up to the stun incredibly dangerous for the rest of the team. A well-timed Blast Off! can also silence Beastmaster right as he's about to commit, ruining the entire engagement.
