Bloodseeker vs Doom

How this matchup plays

Picking Doom into an enemy Bloodseeker often feels like a mistake from the very start. The problem isn't what Doom does to a single hero, but what it does for Bloodseeker. When Doom casts its ultimate, the target's health ticks down slowly. This prolonged period of low health fully activates Bloodseeker's Thirst, giving him massive movement speed and damage to clean up the rest of the fight. The signature spell meant to disable one enemy ends up empowering another. Doom himself is also vulnerable, as his own Scorched Earth encourages running, which is heavily punished by Rupture.

Throughout the game, the Doom player is forced into a difficult position. Using his ultimate on one of Bloodseeker's allies turns the fight into a race against a super-charged opponent. The long duration of the disable becomes a liability, fueling Bloodseeker for the entire teamfight. The alternative is to try and use Doom on Bloodseeker himself, but this requires getting close without being Ruptured first. A smart Bloodseeker will play around this, letting his teammates bait the spell while he waits to capitalize on the low-health heroes that Doom's ultimate inevitably creates.
