Bloodseeker vs Lion

How this matchup plays

Thinking Lion can easily lock down and kill Bloodseeker is a common trap. While Lion has powerful disables, the real problem for him is Rupture. Once that's on him, he's forced to stand completely still or take massive damage, making him an easy target. Attempting to use Mana Drain is equally risky, as it holds Lion in place and invites Bloodseeker to run in and finish him off. Bloodseeker's Thirst also gives vision of injured heroes, making it difficult for a low-health Lion to retreat and recover after a fight. Bloodseeker simply has too many ways to punish a hero who can’t afford to be caught out of position.

Early in the game, Lion's lockdown can set up a kill on Bloodseeker, especially with a ganking teammate. As the game progresses, however, Bloodseeker can often build enough survivability to withstand Lion's initial burst and turn the fight. A farmed Bloodseeker actively looks for supports like Lion to pick off before a teamfight starts. Lion’s success depends on staying with his team, using his stuns to peel for a Ruptured ally or to help his cores burst down Bloodseeker. The matchup often comes down to positioning and who gets the jump.
