Bloodseeker vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Picking Bloodseeker to counter a Spectre is a classic trap. On paper, Rupture should lock down a slippery hero, but Spectre is perfectly happy to stand her ground and fight when she has to. Spectre's entire kit works against what Bloodseeker wants to do. His high single-target damage gets reflected back at him by Dispersion, and his Thirst-fueled chases are irrelevant when Spectre can use Haunt to instantly jump to any fight on her own terms. She doesn't need to run from him, she can fight him head-on or simply appear somewhere else.

Bloodseeker has to win the game very early, snowballing off the lane to take objectives before Spectre gets her core items. The issue is that Spectre is one of the best heroes at recovering from a poor start. Once she's farmed, she turns the tables completely. Any gank attempt from Bloodseeker can be reversed by a Haunt, and in late-game teamfights, a farmed Spectre is too durable for him to burst down. He ends up killing himself on her Dispersion while she ignores his control and focuses down his team.
