Bounty Hunter vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Building a gold lead off Track kills runs into a serious problem against Spectre. She’s naturally durable because of Dispersion, so any attempt to burst her down reflects significant damage back onto your team. Committing for a gank can easily become a bad trade before she even dies. The vision from Track is also less valuable when Spectre can use Haunt to join any fight from anywhere on the map. Core items on Spectre often provide a dispel, letting her shed the Track debuff and deny Bounty Hunter the kill gold.

This leaves Bounty Hunter struggling to execute his game plan. His team can’t reliably get the pickoffs needed to snowball an early advantage because Spectre is such a poor target. While his team is looking for ganks, she is free to farm and accelerate. Once Spectre has her key items, Haunt allows her to initiate on her own terms, often jumping the backline where a hero like Bounty Hunter is most vulnerable. He lacks the tools to survive her focus or protect his teammates, leaving his team at a disadvantage as the game progresses.
