Bounty Hunter vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Ganking a lone Venomancer can be a risky proposition for Bounty Hunter. On one hand, Venomancer is slow and fragile, making him an ideal target for a burst from Jinada. On the other, any damage Veno lands in return, like from Poison Sting, will continue to tick away even after Bounty Hunter uses Shadow Walk to escape. This lingering damage can often be enough to turn a seemingly successful gank into a trade or force Bounty Hunter back to the fountain, negating the pressure he's supposed to create. It forces BH to commit fully or not at all.

This means Bounty Hunter often has the advantage in the early and mid-game, where he can find isolated pickoffs on Venomancer before he has defensive items. Using Track makes it easier to snowball a gold lead for his team. The matchup gets tougher for Bounty Hunter later on, when five-on-five teamfights become more common. If BH gets caught in a big Poison Nova, his low health pool makes him a non-factor for the rest of the fight, even if his team eventually wins it. The game often hinges on whether Bounty Hunter can get his team far enough ahead before Veno’s teamfight control takes over.
