Brewmaster vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down a Brewmaster with single-target stuns can feel like a waste of time. While Ogre Magi has the potential for long lockdown with a lucky Multicast on his Fireblast, it's all for nothing if Brewmaster gets Primal Split off. Once split, the Brewlings aren't easily controlled by one hero. The Storm panda is particularly effective here, as its Dispel Magic can remove both Ignite from an ally and Bloodlust from an enemy, directly undoing much of what Ogre Magi wants to accomplish in a fight.

The entire matchup revolves around that crucial moment of initiation. Ogre Magi's goal is to enable his team to burst Brewmaster before he can react. Brewmaster, on the other hand, often treats Ogre's team as a trigger to use his ultimate, knowing he can reset the engagement. After the split, Brewmaster can effectively turn the tables, using his own stuns and slows to isolate a target while rendering Ogre's buffs and debuffs far less impactful. The outcome often depends less on the heroes themselves and more on which team better executes their plan around that one critical cooldown.
