Bristleback vs Morphling

How this matchup plays

Putting early pressure on a Morphling is a solid plan, and Bristleback excels at it. The constant stacking damage from Quill Spray forces Morphling to keep more points in Strength to survive, which directly lowers his damage, armor, and farm speed. Adding the armor reduction and slow from Viscous Nasal Goo makes him an easy target to run down. While Morphling wants to be in a high-agility form to trade effectively, Bristleback's entire kit makes that a dangerous proposition. The pressure isn't a huge burst he can react to; it's a slow, grinding attrition that he struggles to deal with before he gets key items.

This early advantage doesn't always translate to a win, though. The game often becomes a race. Bristleback and his team try to push the tempo and take objectives while Morphling is still weak. Morphling, on the other hand, focuses on farming a Silver Edge to disable Bristleback's passives, or looks for a good Replicate to turn a fight around. If the game goes late and Morphling gets his items, he can absolutely man-fight a Bristleback, especially with a break. The edge comes from Bristleback's ability to disrupt Morphling's preferred game plan from the very start.
