Bristleback vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Trying to Static Link a Bristleback often feels awkward. He can simply turn around to run, forcing Razor to chase while taking constant Quill Sprays. This either breaks the link early or puts Razor in a terrible position. The damage drain from Static Link is also less effective, because most of Bristleback's threat comes from his spells, not his attack damage. He doesn't mind losing the physical damage as much as other cores would, which lets him continue to disrupt the enemy team.

In the laning stage, Razor can still create pressure, but the dynamic shifts as the game progresses. Bristleback wants to be the center of attention, running deep into fights, and this forces Razor into a difficult choice. Either he tries to link Bristleback and gets kited while his team gets run over, or he ignores him to find a better target. Bristleback is happy with either outcome, as his primary job is to create space and soak damage, which this matchup lets him do slightly more easily.
