How this matchup plays

Expecting Tinker's high volume of spells to burst down Bristleback is a common trap. Tinker's whole pattern with Rearm means he's constantly casting, but this plays right into his opponent's strengths. Every bit of damage Bristleback takes from the back or sides can trigger a reactive Quill Spray, quickly stacking up on a fragile hero like Tinker. Before he can get through Bristleback's passive damage reduction, Tinker often finds himself taking lethal return damage. The blind from Laser is also not very impactful against a hero who deals most of his damage with spells.

This dynamic means the Tinker has to play with extreme caution. A Bristleback can often run directly at Tinker, forcing him to use his Blink Dagger to escape and effectively zoning him from a teamfight. To have a chance, Tinker needs to stay on the fringes of the fight, relying on his team to create space and using items like a Scythe of Vyse to lock Bristleback in place. It becomes a game of cat and mouse, where the outcome depends on whether Bristleback can close the gap or if Tinker can successfully kite him from a safe distance.
