Bristleback vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Trading hits with Bristleback in lane becomes much easier for Undying. Each cast of Decay saps strength, which directly reduces Bristleback's health and damage output, making him less of a threat. He can't mitigate this with his passive back protection. When Undying drops a Tombstone, the zombies swarm and apply a stacking slow that makes it difficult for Bristleback to posture aggressively or chase for kills. The high number of units created by Tombstone also amplifies the power of Undying's Soul Rip, providing a substantial heal for his allies that can negate a lot of Quill Spray damage.

This early pressure can often slow down Bristleback’s timings on key items. In later teamfights, he's a hero who wants to be in the center of the action, but a good Tombstone placement can completely zone him or make him an easy target. Bristleback's best approach is to manage his positioning carefully, avoid getting hit by multiple Decay stacks, and prioritize destroying the Tombstone as soon as it appears. If he can't get on top of Undying quickly, the fight often turns against him, but it's not an impossible situation to navigate with the right focus.
