Bristleback vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Facing a Zeus as Bristleback can be frustrating because your usual tankiness feels less effective. Zeus constantly chips away at your large health pool with Static Field every time he casts a spell. While your back protection works against all damage, much of his spellcasting is done from the front during a direct confrontation, or is simply unavoidable like his ultimate. This means you can't rely on turning your back to solve the problem. Bristleback is forced to face the threat, which is often exactly where Zeus wants him.

The matchup often comes down to who controls the engagement. In the early game, Zeus can bully and zone Bristleback. Later on, Bristleback's job is to survive the initial magical burst and close the distance. A Pipe of Insight for his team or a personal Mage Slayer can seriously blunt Zeus's offensive power. If Bristleback can get on top of the fragile Zeus, the fight ends quickly. If Zeus can maintain his distance and kite with his team's help, he can wear Bristleback down before he gets close.
