Broodmother vs Dawnbreaker

How this matchup plays

Trying to push a tower with an army of spiders runs into a big problem against Dawnbreaker. Her Starbreaker combo clears the whole swarm instantly, and she's naturally durable enough to survive the initial burst from Broodmother herself. Broodmother relies on building up a critical mass of Spiderlings to overwhelm targets, but Dawnbreaker’s core abilities are designed to punish clumping up. Even Celestial Hammer's fire trail can melt away the smaller spiders as they try to close the distance, denying the pressure Broodmother needs to create.

This dynamic means Dawnbreaker can often stall Broodmother's signature mid-game push by herself. While Broodmother wants to take over one part of the map, Dawnbreaker can repeatedly show up and reset the situation. Her global presence from Solar Guardian also makes it risky for Broodmother to commit to ganks, as a fight can be turned instantly with a well-placed arrival. Broodmother's best response is to play away from Dawnbreaker entirely, forcing rotations and hitting objectives on the other side of the map before she can react.
