Broodmother (Brood) Counter Picks — 7.41f
Who counters Broodmother (Brood) in Dota 2 7.41f? Counter picks and matchups for Broodmother, ranked by win rate from ranked matches.
Broodmother is a snowball lane bully whose Spiderlings swarm and Spin Web grants her a near-untouchable home turf to push from. She dominates single-target, low-clear heroes: Arc Warden, Nature's Prophet and Puck can't deal with her spider army. Broodmother is hard-countered by AoE clear and disable: Earthshaker and Axe erase her spiderlings, while Necrophos and Spirit Breaker out-sustain or run her down. Draft tip: Broodmother is a vicious early-push pick into low-AoE drafts; she's shut down by Earthshaker, Axe, and any team that clears her spiders.
In Dota 2 7.41f, the heroes that counter Broodmother hardest are Earthshaker, Spirit Breaker and Necrophos — Broodmother wins only 41.0%, 43.9% and 44.6% of ranked matches against them.
How to counter Broodmother: why these picks work
- Earthshaker — Aftershock and Echo Slam scale with crowd size, and Broodmother's whole game plan is building a crowd — one blink into the spiderlings ends the experiment.
- Necrophos — Death Pulse simultaneously clears spiderling waves and out-sustains the attrition lane Broodmother wants, and Heartstopper quietly taxes every web she stands in.
- Crystal Maiden — Frostbite lasts far longer on creeps, deleting spiderlings one cast at a time, and Crystal Nova's area slow strips the swarm's momentum in lane fights.
- Axe — Counter Helix clears spiderlings for free while Berserker's Call drags their mother into the spin — the web advantage becomes a queue for the blender.
