Broodmother vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Trying to swarm Legion Commander with spiders is a classic mistake. The bigger the army Broodmother sends, the more damage Overwhelming Odds does. It clears the entire wave instantly, gives Legion a movement speed buff, and often turns a losing fight into an easy kill. The spell is basically designed to punish heroes who rely on lots of weak units. Even if Broodmother gets ahead and tries to fight solo, a well-timed Duel completely negates her mobility and web advantage. Legion locks her in place and forces a one-on-one fight which Brood often can't win, especially if Legion has a few Duel victories already.

This dynamic shapes the entire game. In lane, Broodmother struggles to build any momentum because her spiderlings are a constant source of gold for Legion Commander. Mid-game, Brood wants to split push and control the map, but she has to live in fear of Legion blinking in, clearing her push with a single spell, and then Duelling her. Broodmother is forced into a defensive posture, trying to farm safely and avoid Legion at all costs, while Legion Commander can actively hunt her to snowball the game for her team.
