Broodmother vs Shadow Fiend

How this matchup plays

Thinking Shadow Fiend’s Shadowraze easily clears out spiderlings and wins the lane is a common trap. While he does have good AoE magic damage, Broodmother can make it very difficult for him to land it effectively. Her webs provide movement speed and free pathing, allowing her to juke and position her spiders to avoid getting hit by all three Razes at once. The constant pressure from Broodmother forces Shadow Fiend to expend a lot of mana just to keep the lane from being overrun, which can leave him vulnerable if he misplays.

This matchup often comes down to execution and support from teammates. If Broodmother gets an early lead, her ability to take towers and control map areas can starve Shadow Fiend of the space he needs to farm up his core items. Conversely, if Shadow Fiend can survive the lane and build up his souls, he becomes a significant threat with his high physical damage. His Requiem of Souls is also a powerful tool for bursting Broodmother down if he catches her out of position, making this a genuine skill-based duel from start to finish.
