How this matchup plays
Thinking you can lock down Broodmother with single-target spells is often a trap. Shadow Demon's kit is built around isolating or disabling one enemy, but his main problem is the army of spiders, not Broodmother herself. His Disruption can even accidentally save her from focus fire. While Demonic Purge is very effective against Broodmother, it does nothing to the dozens of spiders melting her target. Shadow Poison needs to be stacked multiple times to clear spider waves, and he usually doesn't get that time before being swarmed. He can still set up kills on an out-of-position Broodmother, but he can't solve the fundamental problem she presents in a teamfight.
