Broodmother vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Clearing out a wave of spiderlings is often trivial for Slark. His Dark Pact provides a recurring area-of-effect nuke that melts Broodmother's army, denying her the ability to swarm and overwhelm him. This makes it difficult for Broodmother to establish a foothold in fights or bully him out of a lane once he has a few levels. If Broodmother ever tries to commit for a kill, Slark can usually escape the webs and spiderlings with Pounce. He has the basic tools to survive her main offensive pattern and even turn the aggression back on her if she overextends.

The matchup becomes a game of map control and timings. Broodmother's plan is to leverage her stronger early game to build a lead, take towers, and force Slark to constantly react to her split push. She wants to avoid direct fights with him and instead choke out his team. Slark, on the other hand, wants to survive the laning stage and then use Shadow Dance to hunt Brood's teammates, building his own snowball. The game often comes down to whether Broodmother can create enough pressure to win before a farmed Slark starts taking over the map.
