Centaur Warrunner vs Razor

How this matchup plays

Trying to drain damage with Static Link runs into a few problems against Centaur Warrunner. Hoof Stomp provides an instant stun to break the link and create distance. If that's not enough, Stampede gives Centaur and his allies a global escape to snap the tether from anywhere on the map. Razor wants to find a target he can stand and fight, but Centaur is designed to soak damage and punish attackers with Retaliate, making him a poor focus target for Eye of the Storm. Razor's core mechanic is simply unreliable against a hero with so many ways to disengage.

The dynamic shifts throughout the game. Razor can often bully the lane early, using his range and damage drain to control farm. However, once Centaur Warrunner secures a Blink Dagger, the script flips. Razor becomes the primary target for Blink-Stomp initiations and team-wide ganks under Stampede. The outcome of fights then depends on execution. If Razor positions well and his team can protect him, he can kite and melt Centaur's frontline. If Centaur finds his opening, Razor dies quickly before he can build up damage.
