Centaur Warrunner vs Timbersaw

How this matchup plays

Trying to harass Centaur Warrunner in lane is where everything starts to go wrong for Timbersaw. Every small instance of damage from Timbersaw's spells gets punished by Retaliate, making it nearly impossible for him to trade effectively or build up stacks of Reactive Armor without taking heavy return damage. This dynamic often shuts down Timbersaw's ability to dominate the early game. The matchup gets even worse once Centaur completes a Blademail, as Timbersaw will often kill himself trying to land his full combo. While both are tanky strength heroes, Centaur’s kit is perfectly suited to punish the exact kind of sustained spell damage that Timbersaw relies on.
