Thinking Centaur Warrunner automatically runs over Sniper is a common mistake. While Centaur's kit seems designed to close the distance with Stampede and lock a target down with Hoof Stomp, Sniper has his own ways to control the engagement. A few well-placed Shrapnel charges can slow an entire team's advance, giving Sniper time to reposition or for his allies to intervene. Centaur Warrunner often needs a Blink Dagger to guarantee a clean initiation, and a careful Sniper player will respect that timing and use vision to stay out of range, making the ideal jump difficult to find.

The matchup often hinges on key item timings and team execution. Before Centaur has his Blink Dagger, Sniper can be a major problem from a safe distance. Once Centaur is a threat, the game becomes about vision control and positioning.
