Chaos Knight vs Ember Spirit

How this matchup plays

Getting caught out by a Chaos Bolt feels like a death sentence for Ember Spirit. Chaos Knight wants to find a single target, pull them in with Reality Rift, and delete them with a swarm of illusions. The stun and gap close are a direct threat to Ember's mobility, and once he's pinned down, he has few ways to survive the raw physical damage. Ember’s main defense is his Flame Guard, which can absorb some of the initial burst, and Searing Chains to try and hold the illusions in place while he escapes.

The matchup often comes down to reaction time and positioning. A well-played Ember Spirit will always have a Fire Remnant ready for an instant escape, turning a guaranteed kill into a wasted ultimate for Chaos Knight. In teamfights, Ember will try to play the edges, using Sleight of Fist to whittle down the real hero and his illusions from a safe distance. If Chaos Knight can get the jump, he has the advantage, but if Ember can kite and stay elusive, he can make CK's life very difficult.
