Ember Spirit (Ember) Counter Picks — 7.41f
Who counters Ember Spirit (Ember) in Dota 2 7.41f? Counter picks and matchups for Ember Spirit, ranked by win rate from ranked matches.
Ember Spirit is a slippery magic-carry whose Sleight of Fist harasses risk-free, Flame Guard blocks magic, and Fire Remnant gives him absurd mobility. He's strong into immobile, low-pressure heroes: Timbersaw, Mars and Nature's Prophet can't catch his remnant dashes. Ember is countered by heroes that punish his dives or out-scale: Slark and Lone Druid out-carry him, while Meepo and Tidehunter lock him down. Draft tip: Ember Spirit is a high-tempo skirmisher into squishy drafts; he's weaker into hard-lockdown and late-game carries that survive his burst windows.
In Dota 2 7.41f, the heroes that counter Ember Spirit hardest are Slark, Troll Warlord and Oracle — Ember Spirit wins only 42.6%, 43.0% and 43.6% of ranked matches against them.
How to counter Ember Spirit: why these picks work
- Slark — Dark Pact dispels Searing Chains on reaction, and every extended trade feeds Essence Shift — the longer Ember dances, the more of his agility Slark keeps.
- Oracle — False Promise converts Ember's entire burst window into delayed healing — the chains-remnant-sleight combo lands, and the target simply doesn't die.
- Legion Commander — Duel disables abilities: an Ember caught without a remnant behind him cannot Sleight away, cannot chain, and rarely survives the forced fistfight.
- Lifestealer — Rage walks through Searing Chains and Sleight's magic burst alike, and Feast chews a percentage of Ember's modest health pool with every hit.
