Chaos Knight vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Dealing with a full Chaos Knight Phantasm can be tricky, but Invoker has the right tools for the job. Chaos Knight relies on his illusions to swarm and overwhelm a single target. Invoker’s spells, however, are often area-of-effect. A well-placed Meteor or Deafening Blast can clear out the entire illusion pack very quickly, leaving the real Chaos Knight exposed and without his primary source of damage. This makes it hard for CK to fully commit to bursting a target when Invoker is nearby.

The matchup becomes a game of positioning and initiation. If Chaos Knight catches Invoker out of position and can Reality Rift onto him first, Invoker is fragile enough to die to the initial burst and stun. However, if Invoker sees Chaos Knight coming, he can use spells like Tornado or Ice Wall to kite and create space. He can then punish the aggression by clearing the illusions and turning the fight. The winner is often decided by who gets the jump and whether key defensive items like Black King Bar are available.
