Chaos Knight vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Fighting into Blur is a real problem for Chaos Knight. His damage relies heavily on Phantasm illusions all connecting on one target, but the built-in evasion from Blur means a lot of those attacks simply won't land. This significantly cuts down his burst potential. While Chaos Knight can guarantee a big hit after using Reality Rift with his Shard, it's often not enough to kill Phantom Assassin by itself. She, in turn, can easily jump on him with Phantom Strike and her own crits can tear through his health pool, regardless of his high armor.

The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump and what items they have. Chaos Knight needs an answer to the evasion, usually a Monkey King Bar, to make his lockdown count. If he can catch Phantom Assassin with a full Chaos Bolt and his illusions can connect, he can win. But if she initiates first, or dodges his initial engage, Chaos Knight can die before he has a chance to use Phantasm. It's a true duel of carry versus carry where initiation and item choices decide the winner.
