Chaos Knight vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Reality Rift pulling Sniper from his high-ground perch is Chaos Knight's entire plan. It guarantees he can get on top of an otherwise untouchable target. Once close, a stun and a full set of Phantasm illusions can overwhelm Sniper before he can escape. However, Sniper is not helpless. A lucky Headshot proc can interrupt the assault by pushing Chaos Knight away, and well-placed Shrapnel charges slow the approach and make it harder for illusions to connect. This back-and-forth defines the engagement, making it very dependent on timing and a little luck.

Across the game, this becomes a battle of initiation versus positioning. Chaos Knight wants to buy a Blink Dagger to close distance instantly, making Reality Rift even more reliable. He plays from the fog, looking for a pick-off that starts a fight. Sniper's game is the opposite: he needs vision, good warding, and items like Hurricane Pike to shove CK away. He relies on his team to create a safe pocket for him to attack from. The fight is often decided before it starts; whoever gets the jump on their own terms will usually come out ahead.
